This knife features a new blended s-grind that makes it glide through food effortlessly. The high carbon stainless steel I used makes it easy to sharpen, with the sharpness and wear resistance very similar to a high-quality carbon steel knife - except it's stainless.
The highly figured spalted Tamarind used for the handle & scabbard has been processed & stabilized in resin plastic for over 3 weeks. This makes the density at par with engineered hardwoods while preserving the natural beauty of the material.
Each part of this knife was meticulously hand-crafted in the Balete Blades studio. I make every new knife unique to its owner, even with similar designs, no two knives will be exactly the same.
Blade Steel: Nitro-V High Carbon Stainless Steel (62HRc)
Blade Dimensions: 240mm long x 61mm tall at the heel (9.4 inch x 2.4inch), double bevel, convex s-grind
Handle: Brass-infused carbon fiber bolster scale, dovetailed into a stabilized Spalted Tamarind scale. Handle joined together using 6 blind screws inside the handle, & a domed titanium pin right through it.
